Here you can see a small example of what's possible to do with the Gaia Ajax Viewport.
The Viewport Widget is new in the Victory Release and is basically just a "Viewport" which you
can add up "ViewportViews" into. This Viewport have 5 Views inside of it. Then you can set
the width, height, minimum width/height etc for those Views and even trap resizing events
server-side in addition to setting their sizes from server-side code. Think of it as a very
minimalistic version of Visual Studio where you can have properties, menu, reading surface etc
separated into different "panes" and resize those panes according to whichever pane you're
currently focusing on at the moment.
Every "pane" is also a Container Widget meaning you can add up any other widgets inside of them
and everything just works. Feel free to go berserk! ;)
As usual everything is quite easily skinned through using CSS and similar techniques.
Note that the above menu isn't implemented to do anything more advanced than animating
the text in the "South" ViewportView. If you want to see a real working sample of a Menu
in action feel free to check out our;
Beautiful out of the box Ajax Sample.
If you want to have a look at what more advanced functionality can be created utilizing Gaia then
our 100 ways to read Ajaxian.com Example
is a pretty nice example that really puts the bullet to the test.
We also have several other samples we've really "upgraded" for the Victory Release, among some of them are...
So as you can see we've been really busy with Gaia development since our last Release! We hope as many
of you as possible would like to purchase Gaia Ajax Widgets
since we're really dependent upon your support to continue delivering a first class Ajax Library for .Net and Mono developers! :)
