Getting started with Gaia

Getting started with Gaia is extremely simple. Here's some steps...

• Download Gaia by clicking the download link at the top of this page
• Run the downloaded .exe file.
• In Visual Studio, create a new Gaia site by selecting File -> New WebSite -> Gaia Web Site
  A new site will be created with a default page containing some sample code.
• Press F5 to run your web site.
• That's it! You're now using Gaia Ajax Widgets!

Short Videos

To give you a head-start, try watching one or two of the short videos to give you an overview of what Gaia programming entails.

Forums

Searching or browsing the forums is a great way to learning about Gaia, and to get help with any particular questions.

Samples

The best way to learn Gaia is to use it. Try experimenting with the simpler controls first, such as the TextBox, Button, Label, InPlaceEdit and AutoCompleter. The samples will have been installed to your Program Files/Gaia folder. Alternatively you can see the samples here on our web site.

What's in the download?

• Trial version

  The download above contains a 30 day no-limits trial version with commercial support. Simply download, install, and start using Gaia straight away.

• Full commercial version

  Our download also contains the full version of Gaia. Existing commercial customers should enter their serial key during installation to enable the full version. Want to buy Gaia? See our licensing options here

• GPL version:

  The GPL version is also included. Download the installer above, and run from a windows command prompt or Linux shell with the -gpl option. E.g:

  c:\Gaia>Installer.exe -gpl

  You will need to obtain a GPL serial key to use the GPL version.

• Code samples

  Learn by example with many great code samples included.
