If you want to see some of the features we've given you in this release, check out any of these:
As you can see we've been really busy trying to give you the best possible Ajax tool for your needs! :)
Another really important change is that we've differentiated the GPL and the GCL. The reason we've done this is because we feel that too many of our users don't really understands the GPL and its implications on their own code. This means we've created a really strong warning before downloading the GPL version about what this means to our customers code if they use the GPL version. This also means that there's no sample code bundled with the GPL download anymore, you still have the samples but you've got to go online to view those samples. Note also that we've decided to give
full support to our GPL users from now on, though you have to use the forums to get that support! We felt this was the right thing to do since we're not the only guys giving support at our forums and we want to increase the collaboration effect of the Open Source version of Gaia.
Trial Version
After differentiating the downloads we felt it was on its place to also supply a
Trial Version of the GCL which contains everything the GCL contains except the code for the library. This version will function for 30 days and contains all the sample code that the full version GCL contains. With this version you can start creating "closed source applications" but after 30 days this version will stop functioning.
